5 Women Lawyers from the Balkan Region were in Tucson on the COIL program in June.
They were from Serbia, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This bright, delightful group along with their embassy liaison, Aleksander Jovanovikj, were home stayed during the visit by some of the most amazing CDA members, Casey Woods, Pat Gilman husband Paul Minnie, Bill and Anita Jones, Tom and Thea Chester and Pat and Greg Watson.
The visitors were busy while in Arizona visiting counterparts in the law enforcement world, visiting the Desert Museum, seeing the border wall, visiting Tubac, meeting with the Santa Cruz County Supervisors, the U.S. Attorney General’s office, The Pima County Prosecutor, Tucson Police Department, Pima County Sheriff’s department, the Pascua Yaqui Police Department, Chairman Nunez from the Tohono O’odham, visiting the Mission, The Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Youth on their Own, Emerge Domestic Abuse Center, International Division of Pima Community College, a mixer at Monterey Court, meeting with Tim Steller from the Arizona Daily Star, meeting with Manny Ruiz from Santa Cruz County Supervisors office, Deputy Chief Castilio from the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s office and then a visit to Tubac.
